ArchiTEKs Golf Overspeed Training Program

The full training program will take between 2-3 months with training occurring 3-4 times/week. Players can expect to see considerable swing speeds gains straight away; However, in most cases, swing speeds will not be retained and active in your actual golf game until after 3 and 4 weeks of the program.

Its important to note that swing speeds alone will not necessarily generate more distance in your game. It is a combination of swing speeds and contact that will generate the ball speeds to achieve longer shot distances. This program will certain help solve one portion of that equation, but ample time should be spent at the range working to retain or improve ball striking throughout the duration of the Overspeed training program.

Retention of swing speeds after completion of the 2-3 month program can be achieved through a reduced training schedule. Ensuring the overspeed training system is used a minimum of once/week (completing all three steps) will ensure your club heads speeds do not decline once the full training program is complete.

Time of Training: 5-10 minutes

Duration: 2-3 Weeks,

Swing 1 Final.png

Once properly warmed up, begin by taking 5 swings in your dominant swing direction using the Heavy “Strength” training club.  Once the 5 swings are complete, switch to your non-dominant swing direction (ensuring to change your grip as well) and take 5 hard swings using the Heavy “Strength” training club.

Following the strength training club swing, pick up the lightweight “Speed” training club, and take 5 of the hardest, fastest swings you’re capable of in both swing directions, ensuring to retain proper golf swing form.  This club should feel extremely light after swinging the 345g heavy club, its import to feel as if your body is struggling to keep up with the speed you’re swinging the club.

This is what overspeed training is all about, finding those limits and exceeding them within your means!

Repeat this process 3 times in quick succession, ensure to focus on both speed and form you go through the repetitions.

**If you are using the V2.0 Training System.  The heaviest weight configuration includes all three weights threaded to the club.  The middle weight setting is only the green and blue weights.

5 swings with the Heaviest setting, 5 swings with the middle weight setting, and 5 with the light setting in both the dominant and non-dominant swing direction.

Lateral step Swing:

Frequency: 3-4 times/week.

Time of Training: 10-15 minutes.

Duration: 1-2 months (depending on comfort level).

Step 2 is to be combined with the Part 1 training session and once comfortable with the overspeed standard swing.

Starting with both feet close/together, begin your takeaway.  As you approach the top of your backswing, step in the direction of target line to generate even more club speed and power during the golf swing.   Perform this step with 5 swings using the heavy “Strength” club in both the dominant and non-dominant swing direction, followed by 5 swings using the lighter “Speed” training club in both the dominant and non-dominant swing direction.

Perform this step 2-3 times depending on comfortable level, and in combination with Step 1 of the overspeed training program.

Swing 3 Final.png

kneeling baseball Swing:

Frequency: Every other Day

Time of Training: 15-20 minutes

Duration: 1-2 months.

Step 3 is designed to improve core strength and core engagement during the golf swing.  Kneeling on grass or a pad, make 5 baseball style swings ensuring to rotate the core as much as possible from this position.

Perform this swing using the same regiment as the steps before: 5 swings with the Strength training club, and 5 swings using the speed training club.  Do this in both the dominant and non-direction, in combination with steps 1 and 2 of the program.

IMPORTANT: Please ensure to never swing the clubs in the path of anybody or anything of value.  Safety is archiTEKs highest priority, and keeping yourself and others around your safe during your training is our #1 priority.
